BPNIC Applauds Brazil’s
Statement to Maintain the Palestinian National Unity Government
BPNIC
Press Statement,
6/18/2007
BPNIC applauds the
announcement made on June 13, 2007 from the Brazilian Government
dispatching a strong statement to the Palestinians urging them
to maintain the Palestinian national unity government. Making
this statement at this time is especially vital, as the
Palestinians are going through a domestic struggle due to an
economic embargo supported by Israel.
This stand, taken by the Ministry of External Relations, is
particularly important given that Israel is continuing deception
uncovered by the Brazilian government and indirectly reiterated
in its statement. The Israeli government as a whole does not
recognize Palestine’s right to exist, yet the economic embargo
which in great measures continues to be enforced because the
Palestinian national unity government includes members that do
not recognize Israel’s right to exist. The statement will lead
to further negotiations sequentially providing for evidence that
Israel is a dishonest colonial government concealing its true
agenda from the international community when it negotiates for
peace with Palestinians, which the United States have been hard
at work in this regard.
During the peace agreements signed in the United States in 1993
since 2002, and especially under the newly government appointed
Defense Minister’s previous term as Prime Minister, Ehud Barak, settlement
housing units increased more in eight years from what had been
built over a quarter century, according to the Palestine
Monitor.
BPNIC commends the Ministry of External Relations for their
statement to secure the way for a Palestinian state. Similar
announcements will continue to be supported by BPNIC. |
