The PLO issued a report indicating since September 29, 2000 (the start of the second Palestinian upraising against Israeli occupation of Palestinian lands) until the end of February 2007, Israeli armed forces have killed 4,698 Palestinians in the occupied Palestinian territories.
The Palestinian Liberation Organization’s international relations department gave the following numbers:
Fatality
- 899 children killed
- 296 women killed
- 360 Palestinian security forces killed
- 491 killed by assassination operations
- 146 died at Israeli checkpoints or barriers of obstruction
- 65 Palestinians killed by Israeli settlers
- 10 journalists
- 220 Palestinian sportsmen
- 6 foreigners
- 36 medics
Injury
- 38,689 Palestinians injured
- 7,600 suffer life defects
Detainment
Arrest
- 10,700 remain in jails inside Israel
- 112 women
- 383 children
Demolishment
- 65,728 houses partially destroyed
- 7,795 homes totally destroyed
- 1,300,000 trees uprooted
The PLO also reported that 99,000 acres of Palestinian land was seized during this time period.
