The Brazil-Palestine alliance, Brazilian Palestinian National
Interest Committee (BPNIC), reaffirm the need to obtain a just peace in
Palestine, with a base in the pertinent resolutions of the United Nations
Security Council and the United Nations General Assembly, particularly the
Resolutions 242 (1967) and 338 (1973) of the Security Council, as well as the
"Agreement of Madrid" and the "Arab Peace Initiative", guarantying the safety of
all countries in the region. BPNIC also underlines the need for the full
implementation of the "Road Map for Peace" introduced by the United States.
BPNIC reaffirms the need for addressing the legitimate national rights of the
Palestinian people and the implementation of the Security Council's Resolution
1515 (2003), as well as the creation of an independent Palestinian State, with
1967 borders, coexisting peacefully beside the State of Israel, and the
dismantling of settlements in the West Bank and East Jerusalem.
Also taken into consideration, the advisory opinion of the International Court
of Justice, July 9, 2004, relative to the "Legal Consequences of the
Construction of a Wall in the Occupied Palestinian Territories".
