BPNIC
Briefing,
March 2007
The Brazilian government
expects the new government and dialogue between the
Palestinian parties will decrease differences of opinion,
and smooth the way for normalization of relations between
the Palestinian National Authority (PNA) and the
international community.
Brazil encourages the
Palestinians to keep pushing through the peace process with
Israel in accordance with the ‘Road Map’ and the agreements
already signed previously with the Palestine Liberation
Organization (PLO).
Brazil again affirmed its
readiness to support and assist initiatives designed to
improve living conditions in the Palestinian territories and
at strengthening and consolidating local institutions.
The Brazilian government reiterates its support for
Palestinian self-determination and for the creation of an
independent, sovereign, geographically cohesive and
economically viable Palestinian state alongside Israel.
