The Palestinian
National Interest Committee office in Chicago is announcing today (3/4/2008) they have
agreed to exert all possible efforts to assist the Lifta Association and
the Foundation for Achieving Seamless Territory to work together to bring
the plight of the Lifta village to the international community through campaigns
of their perspective programs.
Under the agreement, the Committee has established the Lifta Village Project
to assist the Lifta Association and the Foundation for Achieving
Seamless Territory to explore collaborations involving alternative
planning for the Lifta Village and to promote the significance of preserving
Lifta as a heritage for long-term regional sustainability.
The Lifta Village Project is a comprehensive approach to sustaining the cultural heritage and
history of Lifta, and also to act as a symbolic cause of opportunity for the
Palestinians by unifying the Lifta Diaspora community worldwide.
